The core executive team of IUSG, consisting of the Student Body President, Vice President, and Executive Chief of Staff, leads the executive branch. They meet with administrators, gather student input, and represent IUSG externally.

The Executive Branch also includes the Executive and Congressional Secretaries, Policy Departments, and Operational Officers. Together, they help manage the branch, develop programs and services, and host events to enhance the student experience and foster collaboration within the university community.

Departments

Academic Affairs

Responsible for advocacy and student-centered programming related to academic instruction, tuition and fees, classroom facilities, computing resources, and overall faculty-student or administrator-student relations.

Communications

Responsible for overseeing all internal and external communication efforts of IUSG.

City and Local Relations

Responsible for overseeing IUSG's engagement with local government and community organizations, while monitoring Bloomington legislation impacting higher education.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Responsible for advocacy and student-centered programming focused on campus diversity, representation of marginalized and underserved communities at IU, relations between IUSG and multicultural student organizations, and campus accessibility.

Environmental Affairs

Responsible for advocacy and student-centered programming that promotes sustainability and environmental stewardship on campus. This includes addressing issues related to waste management, energy conservation, green infrastructure, and environmental education.

Federal Relations

Responsible for managing IUSG's engagement with federal lawmakers and agencies, while monitoring federal legislation impacting higher education.

Graduate Affairs

Responsible for strengthening the relationship between IUSG and graduate students, advocating for their distinct needs and concerns, including academic support, professional development, research opportunities, and work-life balance.

Health & Wellbeing

Responsible for advocacy and student-centered programming related to mental health, physical fitness, nutrition, stress management, and overall well-being, ensuring that students have access to the resources and support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Sexual Violence Prevention

Responsible for advocacy and student-centered programming that prioritizes safety and respect through education, awareness, and prevention programs related to sexual violence.

State Relations

Responsible for managing IUSG's engagement with state lawmakers and agencies while monitoring state legislation impacting higher education.

Student Rights

Responsible for advocacy and student-centered programming related to protecting and promoting student rights. This includes ensuring that students know their rights and responsibilities and supporting those facing academic or disciplinary issues. 

Technology

Responsible for overseeing the management of IT resources, including updating the IUSG website and assisting with technological needs.

Transportation & Infrastructure

Responsible for advocacy and student-centered programming related to addressing the transportation and infrastructure needs of the student body, including advocating for safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation options on and off campus.

Treasury

Responsible for overseeing the budget, processing payments, and maintaining financial records for IUSG.

Offices

ABTS Liaison

The ABTS (Association of Big Ten Students) Liaison acts as the primary representative for IU within the Association of Big Ten Students.

Alumni Relations

Responsible for maintaining and fostering relationships with the IUSG alumni network. 

Data & Research

Responsible for gathering and analyzing data for IUSG.

Events

Responsible for assisting in the coordination and planning of IUSG events.

First Year Internship Program

Responsible for managing first-year students' recruitment, selection, and development within the IUSG Executive Branch.

University Projects

Responsible for assisting the Student Body President in high-impact initiatives that involve collaboration between IUSG and university administration.
