Make Your Voice Heard: IUSG Elections
Indiana University Student Government (IUSG) elections empower students to shape their representation and influence the future of our campus. Each semester, IUSG hosts congressional elections, giving students the opportunity to elect their peers to Congress. These representatives advocate for student concerns, develop legislation, and collaborate with the executive branch to protect student rights and enrich campus life.
Executive elections, held each spring, determine the Student Body President and Vice President. These leaders set the vision for IUSG, working to address key issues and advocate for the student body across all levels of university governance.
The elections process is overseen by the Election Director, who ensures that elections are conducted fairly and transparently. Their responsibilities include enforcing election rules, promoting the election, and working to increase student voter turnout. By advertising election opportunities and encouraging campus-wide participation, the Election Director ensures that every student has the chance to engage in the democratic process.
Participating in IUSG elections—whether as a candidate, campaign member, or voter—is a meaningful way to contribute to the vibrant culture of shared governance at Indiana University.
