IUSG Ensures Student Voices Are Heard
Shared governance is a cornerstone of decision-making at Indiana University, where the collective insights of students, faculty, staff, and administrators guide the direction of our institution. While shared governance at IU is not yet perfected, our commitment is clear: we strive to ensure that the student voice, along with the voices of faculty and staff, is heard in every decision-making body across the university.
At IU, we believe that students, faculty, and staff bring valuable perspectives that are essential to creating a vibrant and inclusive academic community. Through active participation in university committees and other governance structures, students advocate for their peers, contribute to policy formation, and work to ensure that their concerns are addressed.
The Indiana University Student Government (IUSG) is dedicated to expanding and strengthening student involvement in these crucial conversations. Serving on the committees listed below is one of the primary ways students can actively contribute to shared governance on campus. While there is always room for improvement, we continue to push for greater student representation in all areas of university governance, alongside faculty and staff.
