IUSGAC Leadership: Alumni Council

The IUSGAC is led by a council of five elected Chairs, each responsible for a key area of the Community's work.

President

The President leads the IUSGAC and presides over all meetings. The President coordinates the priorities of the IUSGAC, works closely with university staff, and maintains relationships with current student government leadership across IU campuses.

Vice President

The Vice President manages IUSGAC operations and communications. This role maintains meeting records, distributes agendas and materials, and ensures transparency and continuity in the work of the IUSGAC.

Development Chair

The Development Chair oversees the IUSGAC's financial sustainability. This includes setting financial priorities, coordinating fundraising and financial planning, and reporting annually on IUSGAC financial activity.

Alumni Engagement Chair

The Alumni Engagement Chair leads outreach to the broader alumni community. This role organizes networking and professional development opportunities, maintains the alumni mailing list, and oversees IUSGAC quarterly newsletters.

Student Engagement Chair

The Student Engagement Chair builds connections between alumni and current student government leaders. This includes coordinating mentorship opportunities and ensuring alumni support aligns with the needs of current student governments.

Ex-Officio Members

In addition to the elected Chairs, IUSGAC leadership includes ex-officio members who provide continuity and strengthen connections with the University and current student leadership.

These may include:

• A Student Body President Liaison, typically a recent graduate who previously served as IU Student Body President

• Indiana University Office of Student Life staff liaisons

• A Reunion Coordinator when alumni reunions are planned

• Additional student or university representatives, when appropriate

Ex-officio members participate in Council discussions but do not vote on Council decisions.
