What is the Student Healthcare Fund?
The Student Healthcare Fund is an endowment started by the executive branch of IUSG. The goal of the endowment is to increase healthcare equity for all students at IU. We will be looking to fund initiatives that support the physical, mental, and emotional health of students.
Why did IUSG start the Student Healthcare Fund?
This year, the executive branch of IUSG funded an emergency contraception initiative subsidizing emergency contraception for all IU students. This initiative was created to increase healthcare accessibility and affordability for students. Thus far, this program has been able to help over 900 students access emergency contraception at no cost. To ensure programs such as this can continue into the future, IUSG created the Student Healthcare Fund endowment. This endowment will allow the executive branch of IUSG to continue to fund student healthcare initiatives to increase healthcare equity at IU.
What can the Student Healthcare Fund be used for?
The Student Healthcare Fund can be used to address all student-facing healthcare concerns. The specific initiatives will be determined and led by the executive branch of IUSG each year to improve students' mental, physical, and emotional health.
