What is the Freshman Internship Program?
The Freshman Internship Program is an opportunity for first year students to impact Indiana University as soon as they step foot on campus. The program pairs students with an IUSG Executive branch director. Through this partnership, students will work on and execute an initiative that promotes productive change on campus. With help from their mentor, administrators, and additional IU resources, students will work towards implementing their project during their time in the program.
In addition, students have an opportunity to participate in an 8 week, 1 credit course to enhance their leadership skills and further their knowledge of IU Student Government. Students in the program will implement the skills they have learned over the semester to propose an initiative for improving IU’s campus. The Freshman Internship Program works to prepare students for their future at Indiana University and life after college while providing a platform for students to make change on campus.
