We Want YOU to Run For Office!
Each semester, the student body elects various IUSG officeholders to represent them, advocate for their needs, and manage IU Student Government on their behalf. Any student enrolled at IU Bloomington has the right to run for any of these elected positions!
When is the Next Election?
Campus-wide student government elections are held every semester. The next election is the Spring 2023 General Election. This election will be held on March 7th-8th, 2023. Every student enrolled at IU Bloomington will have the right to vote in the election.
At the Spring General Election, the student body will elect the following officeholders:
The Student Body President and Vice President for a term of one year beginning April 15, 2023.
31 Representatives in the Student Body Congress from academic districts for terms of one year beginning April 3, 2023.
Additional Representatives in the Student Body Congress to fill any vacancies that have occured in residential districts since the Fall 2022 General Election for the unexpired remainder of terms ending October 2, 2023.
Except for vacancy elections as described above, the 31 residential-based seats in the Student Body Congress will not be up for election at the Spring 2023 General Election. These 31 seats will instead be up for election in Fall 2023 for terms of one year.
More detailed information on the Spring 2023 General Election, such as candidate filing forms and a comprehensive campaign guide, will be made available in January 2023.
